Venue Registration Options

digital delegate provides event organisers with an expansive toolkit for hosting online events.  In this article, we explain the different registration options available and how to change the registration workflow applied to a site.


There are 5 options for delegate registration and entry:


None

The event is free to access

The venue is open and anyone with a link to the venue can access the open rooms

The digital delegate site operates like a standard website.  All delegates are allowed to access visible rooms and are treated as visitors.


Best for making a live stream available to as many people as possible without collecting personal data.


Simple

Collect information about guests

Guests are prompted to enter their name and email address in order to access a room.

The lobby will display to all delegates.  When a delegate enters their first room they will be prompted to enter some information about themselves.

The information collected about a guest can be tailored to the event depending on the organiser's requirements.


Best for public live streams where organisers want to know more about their audience.


Signup

Events with account sign up

In order to access the event pages, all delegates must create an account or use a Google account to create an account.  Anyone can do this.

delegates have to create an account but do not require a ticket or manager approval to access the venue.


Best for open, public events that will use chat and Q&A


NB. On signup, delegates will appear in the User list with no permissions (since no permissions are required to access the site).


Simple with Signup

A combination of Simple and Signup.  Delegates are required to create an account and are prompted for additional information when they enter their first room.  Anyone can create an account.


Moderated

Delegates create an account and require either a ticket or approval by a manger in order to enter the venue

Tickets can be provided through an email app such as mailchimp, or through the digital delegate Shopify integration which allows organisers to sell tickets to access a digital delegate hosted event.


Best for private, ticketed or managed events and events with video calling and breakout rooms.


How to set the options in the Admin Panel

1) From the admin dashboard select the "Settings" tab

2) Locate the "Registration" drop down and select the option required.

3) Select the "Restart Application" for the changes to apply successfully.
